Mid region refers to Kanto and Chubu areas in Japan.  This region does not have the remoteness of the northern region but instead has interesting facets of people’s lives with the land they live in.

A lot of farming areas are found in this region.  Niigata and Hokuriku also faces the Sea of Japan.  During winter months, the sea gets very rough.  Niigata is famous for the ‘pure’ taste of their water and is one of the best rice growing area in Japan, which is also why they have so many famous sake breweries.
